'Shocking Volt Tackle,' Japan's September Set!

WolfeyVGC not happy ruining online battles with Round so it gets brought to the TCG too

    'Forbidden Light,' Japan's SM6 Set!

Garchomp, Alolan Exeggutor, Dialga and Palkia got to avoid the dual-Energy requirement that has plagued Dragon Pokemon (especially since DDE rotated). Why doesn't Goodra get to use only W Energy or only Y Energy?

News Lycanrock-GX Deck to be Included in January's 'CoroCoro!'

Agreed! There needs to be more variety in type representation of a Pokemon. There haven't been many Fighting-type Tyranitar, for instance.

News Lycanrock-GX Deck to be Included in January's 'CoroCoro!'

Rayquaza is a Virizion-EX that only gives one prize and is universal (and DCE compatible) but for the costs of lower HP, no Verdant Wind and having to attach from the discard (which means you'll have to do the work of getting the Energy cards into the discard beforehand). Is that enough to make...

News 'Volcanion' and 'Magearna Mythical Collection' Boxes in January!

Hmmmmmm I wonder which Pokemon Magearna is designed to counter, I have no idea what it could possibly be

    Your favourite TCG card art?

I could describe why I love this card's art so much but really it speaks for itself.

Pokémon Generations - New Animated Series of Shorts!

Oh man, it's been three years since they released Pokemon Origins, and now we get what is at least partially a sequel. And how many years is it between R/B/Y and G/S/C? Three years! If that detail was on purpose...respect.

Discussion Foongus + Poke Balls = Play Ball

It seems like the kind of thing that at best gives you a reason to run Poke Ball in a deck that already runs Amoongus. No point in running a Foongus/Ball engine in any other deck - there are options that are more less flippy and doesn't clog your deck with otherwise useless cards. Until we get a...

    P!P/Rules Should Garbodor be Banned?

@crystal_pidgeot At this point in time, what are you expecting to get out of this conversation? Do you want to convince people that Garbodor should be banned? Wait for events before judging that. That the measures against Garb are too situational/unreasonable for decks to succeed? Again, wait...

    P!P/Rules Should Garbodor be Banned?

I wanna know why this discussion is happening now and not after there have been actual competitions in the PRC-on format with Garbodor actually being broken/not broken. We can theorymon as much as we want about a card being broken but that doesn't mean it will be.

Discussion Can Water Toolbox survive without Seismitoad-EX?

If the 130 damage attack is such a massive hole for the deck (I doubt another reliable lock like Quaking Punch will come around soon so really that's irreplaceable), what are thoughts on Ash-Greninja-EX rather than Vaporeon-EX? The only downside of its Ninja Blade attack for 130 (that...

    2017 Format Rotation Announced!

From a purely flavour point of view I honestly prefer them to be that way: as last resort cards that help you in a pinch rather than being the core method of getting Gallade/Primal Groudon-EX out etc, so they really are an "Ace in the Hole".

    2017 Format Rotation Announced!

Here's to a slower, more fun format! (As long as counterdecks to M Rayquaza-EX manage to keep it on its toes). This actually looks quite promising in allowing a wider variety of decks to flourish.

Discussion Decks with Potential for After Upcoming Rotation

Usually for rotations they try to sync it with the games, don't they? As in there was a DP-on format, (No Pt-on because of the emergency rotation due to Sableye+BW rules), HGSS-on, BW-on, BCR-on (which is basically the BW2 set), XY-on. So I'd expect the format to be one that matches with ORAS...

Blog Steamy Surprises: An In-Depth Look at Steam Siege and Worlds

Infernape from this set seems really similar to Infernape Lv.X (obviously) and also LA Kingdra and Neo Genesis Feraligatr. As far as I know Kingdra was mostly used for its Dragon Pump attack and its Aqua Stream attack was barely used if ever. Feraligatr was successful but the game was so...

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

Non-competitive TCG view: I am personally not a fan of Mega Evolutions in general, BUT if they had turned out to be mechanistically like these BREAK cards and replaced EXes I'd have much preferred it: as a personal view I'd much rather Mega Evolve a Charizard that I had gone through the effort...
